About

Knowledge Lost is the next evolution of my blogs. Originally I had my cultural lessons, reading & writing all on separate blogs, but as I learnt the ins and outs of WordPress a bit more I discovered how to combine all the blogs into one while still separating each topic. So know you can very all my blogs in one place.

The title Knowledge Lost was adapted from the title Paradise Lost by John Milton. I decided on this title to symbolise the fact that there is so much to learn and so much knowledge out there that previously was lost to me. As I discover all this information, I realise there is so much more to learn so this blog keeps growing and growing. I thought it would be better suited if all the categories were separated so that people can read the sections that interest them (some posts will show up in multiple categories) instead of the entire blog.

Topics included are as followed;

  • Art – A looking into Art and Art history
  • Culture – My Cultural lessons (the original posts for this blog)
  • Literature – The books I’ve read since beginning in 2009 and my journey into trying to turn myself into a bibliophile
  • Philosophy – The beginning of my search into Philosophy
  • Poetry – The Poetry the speaks to me and the poets who inspire me
  • Writing – This is an insight into my attempts at writing and thoughts on writing.

The more I learn the more I’m sure this blog will grow

Bio

My name is Michael, I’m a knowledge hungry aspiring writer, who is trying to convert into an avid reader. I try to analyse the world we live in and why people are who they are. I normally use a lot of dark imagery when writing and have a new found love for the romantic period and culture in general.

Growing up I didn’t have much interest in school and never felt that I really learnt anything there. I’ve since discovered that life gives the best lessons and books spark more interests than school did. I think it was these books and lessons that forced me into wanting to learn more. Now when I discover new information from one of my new found interests, I force myself to learn as much as possible on the topic. I’m a self confessed nerd and a self taught information junky, I’ve only recently discovered my passion for Literature, Culture, Art and Philosophy, and discovered these properly wouldn’t have been taught in school; The knowledge was lost to me.

I have always had a passion for writing and didn’t know what to do with it, now with my desire to learn, my thirst for knowledge has started me writing more often. Knowledge Lost is my attempts to bring to light topics that are often over looked by the classroom while trying to help improve my knowledge, vocabulary and writing skills.

The more I discovers about this previously hidden world, the more I realises there is so much more to learn. This is a never ending journey of discovery, this blog is my personal journey as well as interesting thoughts and lessons for others to enjoy as well.
